DIY shorts

Yesterday, I saw the movie Guardians of the Galaxy. It was funny - the action scenes were a bit much; but bearable. If you would like to see it, opt for IMAX, you can't go wrong.

So, I wanted a casual yet chic outfit for said movie. It was a long movie therefore anything too tight or constricting was out of the question. I have had these retro high-waisted denim pants for years, they were one of my thrift store finds. Yesterday, I decided their reign as pants had come to an end, and it was time for them to be shorts. Cue 60 seconds shorts DIY! You will need a pair of scissors and steady hands. Barring steady hands, you will require chalk and a pressing iron.

Step 1: Lay pants out on a very flat surface.
Smooth out any wrinkles and tug crotch up to allow pants to lay very flat.

Step 2: Using scissors, cut steadily across pant legs at desired length.
For unsteady hands, use chalk to mark desired point and draw cutting line for precision.

Cut straight across carefully.

Step 3: Roll edges of new shorts twice, to create a finished look.
If you would prefer a precise fold, use chalk to draw two parallel lines. Fold along lines.
Use a pressing iron to keep folds in place.

Roll edges by hand.
Step 4: Pair with bright cropped top, matching accessory and go forth into the world brimming with sass.
Do not forget to be proud of yourself for adding a new item to your wardrobe, without spending a cent! xx

Class act

Sometimes I play dress up. On a good day, you'd probably find me in denim and a ratty tee, a la casual chic meets coffee-laden 90s grunge. More often than not, I'm wearing black or grey (as the last post probably let on) However, some days, I'm all woman. Colourful clothing, hair coiffed, makeup on, and heels to the heavens. Why? Cos I'm a womaaaaaan! W-O-M-A-N! *struts off lip-syncing* xx

You know what?

I'm not even going to bother explaining these hiatuses anymore. I'm a bad person. I know. Please love me. Not good enough? Oh... I had school and a degree to complete, and final exams, and massive amounts of coffee to consume and even more massive amounts of sleep deprivation to contend with. Better? Ah, fab! I knew you'd come around.
What have I been up to? Well after, I caught up on months of sleep, I did this in the past few days. This one is called Blackout. It started out like a regular shoot, then I realised I have a TON of black clothing (naturally) and voila, this was born. Me likey! Et vous? Oh stop pouting and love me! xx
